Well, it’s been a fantastic few days since we got engaged, with lots of people sending their best wishes and all sorts – nice to feel we have lots of friends! As I proposed only with a temporary ring that my dad had used for my mum, we went out on Saturday to start looking for rings. Our intention hadn’t been to buy a ring really, since we wanted to shop around. After going into about 15 jewellry shops in Norwich, we returned to look at the first ring Lizzy had tried on. It turned out that it was the only one they had left and it might take 3 months to find a replacement. So there we were stood with a gorgeous ring for a price that was higher than we were aiming, but was good value. I asked her if she could imagine a better ring… she said no. So we bought it. Scary.

The band is platinum, which is what makes it particularly special and particularly good value…
Anyway, I came back to my parents’ on Saturday, and she’s coming down here later today, so we’ve had 2 days apart 🙁 Poor us 😥

Wow, congratulations, I’m really pleased for you both! I didn’t even know til last night – Sam told me when we met up for a drink in Bristol…
