Very briefly…
LOTS of family came to say goodbye – THANKS!
A FEW friends met up with us to wish us well.
We repacked again… and again…
And then we set off for Heathrow!

I’ve just realised my past 4 blog entries look more like twitters…
Anyway, I’m probably going to re-post them on my Twitter feed anyway.

OK, so how do you say “1300″ as a time?
I’d probably say “thirteen hundred hours” if I don’t just say “one pm”.
Why do we say “thirteen hundred hours” and such? Surely it should be “thirteen hundred minutes” or just “thirteen hours”… very strange!

Wow, how did someone not think of this before?
Oh, hang on, I DID! LOOK! Like, 4 months ago. I guess woe on me for not sending it to FAIL Blog… Maybe there’s some other genius photos waiting to be discovered on my Flickr…

Well looks like “Aspire” has been constructed… Here’s the view from my back window… do you find it Aspirational?

A few points:
- Nice name… “Aspire”… “A spire”… do you see what they’ve done there? Strangely similar to the Christian Centre’s “Inspire”, or “In spire”… although I don’t think you will be able to get in it… http://www.christian-centre.org/inspire/consultation.html
- I will be able to see this from my back window… not sure that’s a good thing! Wonder if I’ll be able to aspire on one side of the house and inspire on the other?
- This is quite specific isn’t it: “Britain’s tallest free-standing work of public art”… there’s a taller bit of non-public art? f so, how are they hiding it?
Sounds pretty weird… but then I don’t really “get” art like this generally, but I think it might be impressive engineering.
